Founded in 2022, 22Live is the UK’s next generation pro-audio service provider, offering equipment rental services to touring clients and events, and pro-audio sales for several prestigious brands. In January 2023, 22Live launched to the market with an experienced management team coming from some of the best-known rental and sales businesses in the UK.
22Live have rapidly built a reputable brand within the industry, driven by their knowledge, customer satisfaction, quality and reliability which has all contributed to their exponential growth over the 2 years. With passion, determination and a team of likeminded industry professionals, 22Live are defiantly independent, prioritising not only their stock and systems, but their culture and heritage as a rock’n’roll service provider, aiming to operate at the cutting edge of live production.
Commercial Director Alex Penn said, “We are very proud of what we have achieved in such a short space of time, and have already delivered global projects for Sigur Ros, Tori Amos, The Australian Pink Floyd Show, as well as UK and European tours for many big-name artists including James, Pendulum, Madness, Travis, Sampha, Katie Melua, and Limp Bizkit to name but a few”. 22Live have also provided servicers to some huge events including West Holts Stage Glastonbury, The Radio One Big Weekend Main Stage, and Chepstow Racecourse. They are also a key dealer for Yamaha, Sennheiser, Shure, DPA Microphones, Rational Acoustics and Martin Audio, having great success reselling and creating bespoke packaging for all of these lines.
Having all worked in the industry for many years prior to establishing 22Live, their management team were all very familiar with Penn Elcom and our range of products, “we don’t go anywhere else for 19” rack panels and rack drawers. We also work closely with our flight case suppliers to ensure that they use all Penn Elcom parts on our packaging. We understand that high quality delivery is all about packaging and infrastructure for a rental business. Infrastructure and packaging, with intelligent design, standardisation and consistency is what ensures quick deployment, quality presentation, reliability, efficiency and is unfortunately often overlooked. Our use of Penn Elcom products and working with our suppliers, as well as developing some of our own line systems, is what gives us the quality we strive for and sets us apart from other service providers.”

22Live also offer bespoke builds and tailored solutions for sales projects… “The idea is that we can add value as a tour sound supplier by aiding with the packaging and can take the pain out of specifying touring packaging for those customers that don’t do it frequently. It’s also particularly useful when supplying directly to artists, corporate rentals and freelancers. This is what we have to do for our own requirements, and so we feel we can provide a better service by helping with this too.”
Working closely with 22Live since their launch has been very exciting for Penn Elcom, and to build a strong relationship with another industry pioneer is of the upmost value to us, and something we take great pride in. 22Live hope to continue the trend of the last 18 months and to keep pushing the boundaries of what is achievable as a start-up, albeit an experienced newcomer to the market, and Penn Elcom are thrilled to join them on that journey.
