LED department colleague Emily Gray shows us a few examples of her beautiful paintings and greeting cards exhibited and sold in Hastings. Having studied illustration at the Kent Institute of Art and Design and then garden design at Plumpton, she loves to paint historic gardens, public parks and countryside landscapes. Emily uses a variation of acrylic, oil and pastel pencils and paints by instinct, letting the colours choose themselves.

Meanwhile in California, Brandon O’Leary crafts handmade leatherware like bags, wallets and dog collars. He told us that he learnt the skill to make a unique birthday gift and then liked doing it so much that he kept at it.
He enjoys the relaxing aspect of working with his hands, making exact and measured cuts or saddle-stitching. Describing his style as modern with clean lines and subtle colours, he now takes commissions for items like bags and once, even a rifle case!

Last, but in no way least, Yulia Oliver-Taylor shows us a few of the stunning photographs that she takes and edits for Instagram. She's been studying photography for over ten years and has found her speciality in portraits, but is also a dab hand with scenery and food shots as well.
Beginning in St. Petersburg, Russia, she studied graphic design and photography and continues to learn new techniques online here in the UK. When asked about which camera she prefers, she said she'll always be a one-camera girl: a Canon.
